hello again! hope everyone's enjoying the long weekend :)
i've added a few more links to people's blogs/xangas that i've recently found hehe... plus i guess it makes me look like i have more friends or something :) hehe..
first of all, i wanted to say happy birthday to phyllis!! :) whoo hoo!! :) hehe.. it's not everyday that you turn ___ (age not disclosed *wink*) ..
so i've had a pretty good long weekend so far! on valentine's day, i went to annie's apartment for a dinner party thingie :) hehe.. thanks for inviting us annie! it was really fun... it had all the right ingredients :) yummy yummy food (props to eric for his banana flambe and to steve for his crab cakes.. can you believe real people can make this stuff? i was muy impressed :) and lots of board games :) hehe.. actually, that lead to kind of an interesting observation. i don't know how many of you have played hoopla, but it's like a version of cranium that is non-competitive.. like instead of teams playing against each other, it's like everyone cooperates against the clock. from my perspective, that's like one of the coolest aspects of the game, that there aren't any winner/losers.. either EVERYONE wins or no one does :) buuuut, as i found out from the guys, to them, that takes away the very purpose of playing (which is, i suppose, to win over someone else!).. as in, "what's the point of that then?!".. i don't know if that's just yet another fundamental guy-girl difference, or what, but it was definitely.. *interesting*... how much of a gender split there was on that at the party :)
oooh also, a few nights ago, i was walking to my apartment (seriously, parking has been horrible somedays! i almost have to walk like 15 minutes to get home from where i end up parking!!) when i saw this huuuuuge raccoon scurry right across the sidewalk in front of me!! now, some of you might know that i have this huge phobia of encountering a huge rat (i don't know where it comes from, but the thought of that SERIOUSLY petrifies me! hehe..) so when i saw this raccoon, i froze, thinking that this is the rat-terrifying moment i'd been dreading for so long! i don't really know what my point was, besides the fact that i was really scared up until the point that the raccoon turned and looked at me (hehe.. or at least, in my direction, if not actually AT me :) before running into the gutter, and his face was actually pretty cute :) kinda like something out of a cartoon :)
for those of you at retreat.. hopefully you're having a good and refreshing time reconnecting with God and with the other people at church :)
and seriously, what's with the new smily face? i just can't seem to type the nose anymore... am i that lazy now? that i can't type an extra 'o' everytime i want to make a smily face? :o) <--- there he is, my old faithful, smily friend that i've ditched lately :(*
wow! it's been a while since i last posted!!
it's funny because i'm actually BACK IN LAB! haha.. we have our next project for that same class that i was struggling with in my previous posts... it's cool though since they gave us an extension from the original deadline (tomorrow) to next tuesday! haha.. all that that did though, was to pursuade me not to do anything since they announced the extension until tonight.. just because i felt so "liberated" for a few nights :) hehe.. silly silly me...
anyways.. i should get back to work.. i was waiting for a lengthy compile which seeeems to have either finished or crashed :) haha..
but the highlight of last week (really quickly) was my big valentine's date :) hehe.. yeah.. my date was busy on the 14th itself with retreat planning stuff, so we decided to go out a week early this past saturday.. i'm sure lots of you know by now, but yeah, angel and i decided to do a big girls night out in the city :) it was soooo much fun! seriously.. muchisimo fun :) haha.. we had dinner at a cute french restaurant (where the waitors were all sooo nice to us! i mean, unlike most nice restaurants where they seem kinda too-good-for-you or whatever :) haha.. maybe because we were two cute girls?! just kidding...) and then we saw this musical contact which was really interesting.. and thought-provoking.. and full of good dancing :) there's a good summary of the story online, since it is hard to explain really :) and then throughout the evening, of course, lots of catching up and talking and all that.... thanks angel for being such a fabulous date :) we're going to try to do fun and different stuff more often.. kinda to kick us out of our normal routine you know? i think that's my new thing.. like i don't realy get to do fun stuff that often these days cuz of school and all... so when i have the chance, i think i really appreciate it muuuch more.. and like, i'm more willing to try new things :) i guess i'll only be "young" for like another few years, so i best take advantage of that yah?
one final note... i don't know why.. but i've been using this skinny smily guy a lot lately! :) what's up with that? where'd the nose go? :o) <--- my usual smily for reference :) hehe...
